39 Weeks!

Aaaahhhhhh!!  I can't believe I'm finally 39 weeks!  Wander if this will be my last belly shot!?  I sure do hope so :)  No real signs of labor yet but I did clean like a crazy person this weekend.  We are as ready as we will ever be for baby boy to arrive!  I've really enjoyed this pregnancy and I can honestly say that I will miss it just being baby boy and me.  But...it is time to share him with the rest of the world!  I cannot wait to see him!  Hard to believe I've been dreaming about him for so long and now we are so close to meeting him!  I have started to dilate and thin but that can mean we are very close or still a week away!  Time will tell :)  Until then I'll enjoy these last few days I have with this little joy in my belly.  I already love him so much!

38 Weeks & Getting Anxious!

Like I've said this whole pregnancy...I can't believe how fast this has gone!  We have been so lucky with this little guy.  He has already been so good to his Mama.  I have loved being pregnant with him and am going to miss it, but I cannot wait to get my hands on him :)  It's surreal to think that soon we will meet our baby.

We've had another awesome week.  We continued celebrating my birthday with friends on Thursday night.  It was great to enjoy one of the last few times we'll be out without Baby Elie.  We have the best friends and I think they are all almost just as excited as we are for him to arrive!

29th birthday celebration with Helen and Aileen :)
We also toured our area daycare's and decided where we will be sending him when I go back to work.  It was a relief to get that accomplished.  We were really impressed with the one we chose, they have great security and the people there seemed wonderful.  I also am close to several people that have only good things to say about it.

Last Friday's doctor's appointment was an exciting one!  I had lost a pound which made me happy and blood pressure is still great.  I have started having some cramping in my lower back and across the bottom of my stomach, I can't say that they are contractions but I guess I'm also not sure they aren't.  Hard to tell when you don't know what to expect!  I let them know this and per my request, they did check me!  Good news is I am dilated a fingertip, 40% effaced, and he is at a -2 station, meaning he is very low.  The doctor could feel his head!  Wow, that made it seem real, real fast!  Ha ha :)  Also measuring 40 weeks.  Unfortunately Chris had to work so he missed out on all the excitement but my Mom went with me.  It was her first time coming with me to the doctor so I think she enjoyed it and was excited to hear his heartbeat.  The doctor said he didn't think anything would happen over the weekend but that maybe I wouldn't make my next appointment!  Well...so far, we are still here!  My next appointment is on Friday again (in 2 days) so it's looking like I'll make that one.  No signs of labor here.  Still just occasional cramping, but at least that is a good sign and hopefully means my body is preparing!

So, all in all things are still good.  I'm trying to stay busy so I'm not constantly thinking about when/ where/ how will baby decide to come.  Chris's parent's got here over the weekend.  His Dad stayed a couple of nights with us but has since gone back to NY.  His Mom is with us and will be until Baby is here!  We are all so excited for him to get here...but we are obviously working on his time, ha ha!  We celebrated Chris's Mom's birthday Sunday night by cooking out and then later with homemade vanilla ice cream :)  Yummo- Chris hit the jackpot when he got that for me for our anniversary.  We have been putting it to work!  Aside from that not much else is going on.  Trying to relax...going to get a pedicure with Aileen tonight after work which I am so looking forward to!  After tonight I'll definitely be ready, ha ha!  Have to make sure my toes are pretty for his arrival!

35 Weeks!

A selfie at 35 weeks!

Another busy week!  We started this week by celebrating my great grandmother's 101st birthday!  Yes, that's right, 101!  What an achievement that is!  Here are 4 generations of my family, 5 if you count Baby Elie still in the oven :)

Granny, my Mom, and my Grandmother

After her birthday party we started celebrating the 4th of July early at our friends annual pool party.  It was so nice to see all of our friends and hang out in the sun for the afternoon.  Obviously we haven't been catching up with a lot of our friends like we normally would at the bar, so it was a treat to hang out with everyone!  And to make it even better I made a festive dessert which seemed to be a hit!
My red, white, and blue trifle!

Looking forward to the rest of the week!  Chris and I are both off work on July 4th so hoping for a sunny day to spend in the pool.  Then having my parents and some friends over that evening for a cookout and to watch the fireworks.  Our doctor's appointment is Friday and then we are headed to Cave Run Lake on Saturday with friends to spend the day on the pontoon!  Hooray for summer activities!

31 Weeks!

31 weeks.
Wow I am so behind!!  Sorry it's been so long since I've posted.  I am actually 33 weeks today but I'm going to backtrack a little.  A lot has happened over the last couple weeks!  We've had two wonderful baby showers!  The first was actually at our house, my sister Patricia hosted it.  It was on June 2nd.  It was a BaBy-Q :)  We spent a casual afternoon with friends and family in our backyard, it was an awesome day!  My brother in law grilled burgers and sausages and we of course had all the cookout fix-ins!  It was a wonderful time and we ended the day by making homemade banana ice cream in our new ice cream maker on the front porch.  I had been craving that for awhile!!  It was so exciting to start getting things for our sweet baby.  It feels more and more real everyday!  I'm so happy that we got the nursery finished so early, because it has been a breeze organizing and putting things away after our showers.  As soon as a couple of tiny finishing touches are complete, I will post pictures of his room!  Hopefully by next weekend we will be totally ready for Baby Elie!

In Baby news, my 30 week appointment was somewhat eventful!  Up until now I have been measuring exactly like I should.  Blood pressure has been great and no weight gain...until now, ha ha!  I knew my luck was running out :)  At my 30 week check up I had gained my first 3# and apparently he had a major growth spurt.  He measured 34 weeks!!!  I about choked when the doctor said that!  He didn't seem at all concerned, considering mine and Chris's birth weight (9.5 and 8.5) we are expecting a big baby.  My mom and all my sisters all have had 8, 9, even 10 pound babies so I don't expect him to be small.  Even still...4 weeks ahead was a little overwhelming to me!  He did say that the measurement could be off if he is still breech, so we will wait until the next appointment in 2 weeks to see what he measures then!

29 Weeks!

This will be short and sweet this week!  There is so much going on it's hard to keep up :)  I'm still feeling awesome and hoping that will last awhile longer :)  Last doctor's appointment was great, blood pressure is perfect and no weight gain yet!  Can't believe that but I'm trying to hold on to that as long as possible.  The pounds are going to start coming soon I know!  I passed my second glucose test with no problems and that was a HUGE relief!  Since I started this pregnancy weighing more than I wanted to, it's been a lot of work to maintain and not gain.  I've been worried about high blood pressure and gestational diabetes but so far so good.  I am right on track and so is Baby E.  He is measuring exactly as he should be.  It's so exciting, but hard to believe we are already at the point that I start going to the doctor every 2 weeks.  We will be meeting this little guy very soon!

There's a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks!  This coming weekend is Memorial Day weekend which is also our 2nd wedding anniversary.  How far we have already come in two years is amazing to me.  We will be celebrating by going to a Cincinnati Reds game with my best friend and then going to dinner just the two of us on the 28th (our actual anniversary.)  I am also going wedding dress shopping with my dear friend who will be renewing her vows next summer.  Lots of girl time, shopping, eating, and time with Chris in the days ahead so I am a happy Mama!

My favorite area for pics now, ha ha!

21 Weeks and I Can Feel Baby Move!

Geez how is time going so fast!?  Already 21 weeks :)  It seems like it's crunch time now because I really want to be finished with the nursery in time to start working outside in the yard!  That's a hefty goal considering we have only just begun!  And our to do list is only getting longer, ha ha!  Oh well, I know it will all get done!

The highlight of this week has already come!  This morning I was sitting at my desk checking emails and getting ready for the week.  It was about 10am when I felt a little flip in my stomach!  I sat quietly for a few minutes hoping this time I was right and I was really feeling him move around!  Sure enough it happened a couple more times.  I called Chris and shared the good news with him.  He was so excited and I know will be over the moon when he can feel him move too!  We are so excited and it's feeling more real everyday!!
